What is the purpose of education and schooling? The answer to this question is at the very heart of learning and teaching. Teachers should think more about this question because it impacts directly on their teaching and their view of the learning process.

Answering the question brings me to two perspectives. The purpose of schooling can either be to reproduce our society with all the evils of inequality and sadness OR its purpose is to change society, making it better for all those who live in it.

10.3 Cookies. When you access our website we may send one or more cookies (small text files containing a string of alphanumeric characters) to your computer to collect certain usage information. We use information gathered by cookies to improve the website. Please note that some of our business partners (e.g. advertisers) use their own cookies or widgets on our website.
